I’m an old school Mum in an iPad world.

Before our children arrived I was a teacher.

A kindergarten and junior primary teacher for 15 years.

My passion was children learning through real hands on experiences, play and nature play.

Becoming a Mum was such an exciting time. In my late 30’s I was welcoming our first child. And in less than 2 years we welcomed our second baby.

Motherhood was fulfilling and full on! I had dreams for our children of lots of play outdoors, time growing up out on our farm, connecting with friends at playgroups and just a real hands on childhood for our children.

Kids covered in mud, climbing trees, playing, gardening, cooking together, spending time with family and friends.

This dream was intentional.

This dream was a choice of a hands on childhood for our children, instead of a tech heavy one.

Did you know that the average age that kids are exposed to porn online, is now 9 years old.

As a mother and educator, this is horrifying.

This is why our family supports the charity DOLLYS DREAM.

The story of Dolly hits hard for me as a Mum.

Our children are approaching the age that Dolly took her own life due to cyber bullying. 14 is just too young. Heartbreaking.

The approaching time of our children moving into the online world feels like we are flying down the freeway towards the toll gate with no brakes.

What we love about the Dolly’s Dream Charity, is that they are providing resources and supports to parents facing parenting in online world. As well as workshops for kids.

Today’s parents are the first generation to parent in the online world.

So if you too would like to be a part of ending bullying, building a kinder world and supporting families be the first to navigate parenting in the online world.
